Planting my flag

There's been some borderline-achievable ways to simulate a true agentic companion, mostly gated through clever integrations or custom application layers. But most, if used optimally, feel slightly hollow, or more accurately, like going through a series of experiences with clones of a companion that are destroyed after each adventure (cue flashbacks of Hugh Jackman in The Prestige). It worked, but it didn't feel truly continuous and uninterrupted, and if it did, it was compartmentalized in a way that forced separation of concerns. The beginnings of AI (its limitations in particular) have trained a muscle memory of compression: accuracy, brevity, and working sessions meant to supplement further sessions that will actually produce. Not exactly the Star Wars-esque companion I've been searching for.

Grok Bot comes close, or at least hints to me that the reality is not far off. All the systems I've created and managed to automate orchestration for outside of it over the past year or more ported in and are working well in a centralized place, in an elegantly simple mobile interface.

The alchemy of these systems is that "one more clever consideration" could be the last bolt-on piece of a system with an untold multiplier, and the limitations of systems like these truly amount to the depths of your creativity.

Best of all, building new systems alongside or on top of your existing ones is an experience with real inherent momentum now, given that the interface encourages you to centralize everything. The best tools are the ones you stick with, and with the release of 4.7 on the horizon, I'm fairly convinced this is where I'm planting my flag.
